After the completion of the kitchen cabinets, Mrs. Williams asked us to look at her hallway floor. On the floor had been linoleum tile glued down. After removing the linoleum, a thick black residue was left behind.
Because we had revealed the good wood underneath the paint on the cabinets, she wanted to know if we could restore the luster of the hallway floors.
We started with sanding a small spot so see the overall condition of the wood underneath. After realizing the wood was still in good condition, we received the go ahead to sand the entire floor. After revealing the good wood, we applied a stain to compliment the wood floors in the adjoining rooms. We then applied a seal coat to protect the floor and give it that beautiful luster we were after.
The stain matched the adjoining rooms, the seal coat brought back the luster, and the hallway tied into the natural wood running through the rest of the house.
